Audio-Visual Information

General Audio-Visual Information

A 35-mm slide projector, overhead projector, screen, pointer, and audio amplification equipment will be provided in all rooms. In addition, a flip-chart will be provided in the rooms in which the Forum Sessions on Saturday and Discussion Sessions during the scientific meeting will be held.

In addition to the above, a new feature for BOTANY 2002 will be the opportunity for presenters to deliver computer-based presentations as a standard presentation option. This will be possible in part, because the Pyle Conference Center is outfitted with an integrated instructional technology system.

The computers that will be provided within the Pyle Center use Windows 98, Office 2000 suite including PowerPoint, Internet Explorer 5.0 and Netscape 4.75. The PowerPoint application will handle older version as well as Macintosh saved as a 2000 or earlier version file. The LCD projection units function at a resolution of 1024 x 768 native operating at 60 Hz.

Power Point files to used in rooms within the Pyle Center and the Lowell Center can be loaded one day in advance of your scheduled presentation time (encouraged) if the files are supplied to the Presenters' Assistance Room (Pyle, room 227) on either 3.5” floppy, CD, or 100MB Zip media. If you choose to use this service, you need to be aware that another presenter could accidentally open your files. If you prefer to load your presentation directly to the computers available in any presentation room, regardless of building location, you should plan on using either 3.5” floppy or CD media. Not all presentation rooms are equipped with Zip drives. Further information about the Presenter's Assistance Room is located below.
