In 1990 Crane, Manchester, and Dilcher published a preliminary monograph outlining the remarkably preserved late Paleocene flora from the Almont, North Dakota locality. In this monograph approximately 60 percent of the taxa were of unknown affinity, and the precise stratigraphic position of the material was unclear. In the last 12 years research and collection efforts have lead to the identification and/or reevaluation of several of these taxa, and acquisition of taxa not in the monograph. We will display a number of undescribed seeds, fruits, flowers, and leaves from this site, in addition to several taxa whose affinities have been clarified. Preliminary pollen analysis of the Almont locality indicates it lies within biozone P5 of the late Paleocene, based on Nichol’s biostratigraphic zonation of the Williston Basin.
